The long rope bridge across the canyon gives out and both children fall; Cloud experiences minor injuries to his legs, while Tifa suffers head trauma that renders her unconscious for several days. The children who initially accompanied Tifa up the mountain report that Cloud was responsible for Tifa's misunderstanding of Brian's statement and encouraged her to continue up the mountain, and Cloud is blamed for the entire incident.
